Lake Caldaro is one of the largest lakes in South Tyrol. And it is one of the warmest lakes not only of South Tyrol, but of the entire Alpine area (the bathing season runs from May to September).
The water temperature in summer reaches 28° C. Besides swimming you can also do canoeing and pedal boating, sailing and windsurfing. Thanks to its location, lake Caldaro is always windy. Which offers the perfect conditions for every windsurfer!
In addition to hiking and cycling, there is a marked and easy walk around the perimeter of Lake Caldaro.
And during winter months, when “the Kalterer” freezes, you can skate on a thick layer of ice covering the lake.
